January 2013 Favourites

We’ve compiled all the things we’ve loved for the month of January 2013 – be it accessories, fashion or hijabs. What are your favourites?

1. Drop Pocket Boyfriend Cardigan by New Look

Jan2013Fav3These extremely baby soft cardigan is too die for. Literally. They come in a variety of colors but the two that we love the most are navy blue and dark red.

The sizes are also generous starting from UK 6 to 16. As these cardigan have no front buttons and are in fact meant to be slouchy (hence the name “boyfriend”), it’s better to buy one size up than your usual. This is so that you can use the two sides can at least cover your chest. Pair it with a striped t-shirt or tank top and jeans for a casual day out.

Tip: If you do plan on wearing it with a tank top/sleeveless top, be wary when the wind blows. Since there are no buttons, the sides can blow off and show some underarm. Instead, bring the two pieces to the front and adorn a cute brooch to fasten them down.

2. Orchid Print Hijab by Hijab House

Jan2013Fav1 If you’ve been a reader of this blog for a while now, you know how much we adore Hijab House. A company with operations in Australia, they stood out from the rest by opening it’s first store in the mainstream markets. Read our interview here.

Hijab House’s style is definitely up our alley. This particular piece, a mix of maroon, blue and brown hues compliments each other very well. Pair it with a matching blue or maroon inner cap and you’ll get a totally different look.

3. Thelma Maxi Dress in Geometric Print by POPPY (for Poplook)

Setting trends in Malaysia and in the region, Poplook has been favored by many for its modest wear. This Jan2013Fav2piece in particular can be played up or down, depending on how you accessorize it.

The geometric prints on this piece is neither in your face or too much. Pair it with a plain navy blue hijab and some wedges or heels for that effortless chic look.
